.:About my humble craft corner:.
"What made you want to make crafts, Heavenly... CRAFTS?!" So I've been asked many times before. I found something I really enjoy and other people really enjoy the results as well. So my answer is, "Why not crafts?" Many people search for new ways to be creative or something new to pick up and learn. After giving birth to my only son a few years ago, I soon decided I would find something to keep me busy besides him, of course. So, I went to a local craft store and bought a couple of crochet hooks, a small ball of green yarn, and a how-to-crochet book with a dvd inside and practiced crocheting OVER and OVER and OVER. At first I thought it wasn't for me because I'm a perfectionist, and I couldn't seem to get my foundation chain with the correct tension!!! So, I watched videos and read my book front to back determined to start my first project---a scarf. From the first two rows of a scarf, I actually jumped to a pattern I spotted online and made a tank-top for a little girl who was three years of age at the time. It looked ABSOLUTELY beautiful. So crocheting, from a craft point of view, has been my first love!
After learning to crochet, I taught myself to knit, sew, and embroider. I've made belts, scarves, headbands, scrunchies, cell phone and iPod holders, tank tops, dish towels, purses (fabric and knit/crochet), baby blankets, wristlet/gauntlets, and small cutesy (hmm, is that a word?!) things like rose petals and pencil toppers, the list goes on and on. I've given away many gifts to friends and family members. In return, I have received a large amount of valuable great feedback concerning my crafting skills. After learning this, I decided to take my crafting more seriously.
After studying crocheting for less than a year, I've come up with my own designs and picked out techniques that I prefer when making crafts---Crochet being my favorite, BUT I DO switch up and snatch two needles for Knitting quite often. So fellow knitters, please understand, I love you ALL as much as my fellow crocheters, besides I don't know if my hook can stand up against several double-pointed and circular needles... PLUS I'm not a fan of broken needles or hooks!!! So now that the peace treaty is in order, let's continue. Depending on what type of look I am going for with my design indicates whether I crochet or knit or both. Many times I embroider my finished projects to give them a new look. I will sell a variety of my crafts (those in high demand) right here for your convenience! If you have an idea of a custom-made gift that you would like me to create, then feel free to go here. Other features on my website will include tutorials (written and video), links and photos, blogs, God-spirations, local calendar for knit-crochet & sewing events and classes from yours truly, and much more.
